Great news for Spectrum WASP who have been awarded over £300,000 in funding to continue their work with autistic young people in the local area.
The charity supports Children and Young people on the Autistic Spectrum as well as their Siblings and Families. They offer monthly activities and workshops to provide support, development and life skills. They have been running for 13 years and have supported over 500 Children and their Families.
The funding received has been a lifeline for the Charity and will enable them to continue operating for the next 3 years. However, the funding is earmarked for 7 different areas and will be mainly covering core costs. Therefore other fundraising efforts are imperative for the activity programs to continue to run. It’s thanks to the efforts of Sue Edwards and Jeni Dubock that the charity survives. Without this funding they didn’t expect to last longer than six months so they are thrilled and relieved that they can continue their support to Local Children/Young People and their Families.
