The NHS Moved Out. We Had Other Ideas. Here’s What Happened Next.

A few years ago, Birch House looked very different.

For many years the building served as offices for the NHS, providing accommodation for a single occupier within the heart of Ransom Wood. When the property became vacant, we faced a decision. We could simply refurbish the space and seek another large occupier, or we could take a step back and rethink what the building could become.

We chose the latter.

Over recent years, Birch House has undergone extensive remodelling and investment as we transformed the building into a modern business centre designed around the needs of today’s businesses.

The result is a flexible and professional working environment offering managed reception services, meeting rooms, co-working facilities, virtual office services and office suites suitable for businesses of all sizes.

A Different Kind of Workplace

What makes Birch House different is not just the building itself but its setting.

Located within the 70-acre woodland environment of Ransom Wood, businesses benefit from a workplace that feels very different from a traditional office park. Woodland walks, wildlife, on-site amenities and a genuine sense of community all contribute to an environment where people enjoy spending time.

Over the years, we have seen businesses form relationships, collaborate and grow together. Through tenant events and the support of our on-site estates team, Ransom Wood has developed a reputation as more than simply a place to rent office space.

It is a business community.

An Opportunity to Join the Community

As Birch House continues to evolve, we are pleased to announce that Suite 6 is now available.

Located on the first floor of the building and accessed via a dedicated passenger lift, Suite 6 provides predominantly open-plan office accommodation together with a number of private offices and meeting rooms.

The suite benefits from all the facilities available within Birch House, including:

  • Managed reception services
  • Meeting rooms
  • Comfort cooling
  • Excellent natural light
  • Raised access flooring
  • Modern access control systems
  • Kitchen and WC facilities
  • Dedicated parking
  • High-quality communal areas

Whether you are a growing business looking for additional space, a company seeking a more professional environment or an organisation looking to relocate to a unique setting, Suite 6 offers a rare opportunity to become part of one of Nottinghamshire’s most distinctive business locations.

Looking Forward

The transformation of Birch House is an ongoing journey, and we remain committed to investing in the building and the wider Ransom Wood estate.

Our objective has always been simple: to create a place where businesses can thrive, where people enjoy coming to work and where companies become part of a supportive and welcoming community.

With Suite 6 now available, another business has the opportunity to write the next chapter in the Birch House story.

Still love to walk around. I used to live in the big house at the top of the drive, it was Oak House then and I nursed at Ransom Hospital , Byron Ward which was on the left side of Ransom Hall car park. Oak House used to be Sisters accommodation. I think the main chef lived upstairs when I lived there and just me downstairs mostly. I loved it but had to keep my kitchen door closed because of the squirrels. Loved looking down the drive out of my bedroom and lounge windows, beautiful in Autumn and when it snowed, I worked at Ransom Hospital until it closed in 1987. Wonder why Oak House was later named Ash House? Lovely dining at Forever Green in the grounds whilst I reminisce.
