This is known as number porting, and in most cases we can do this. However there are certain types of number that can’t be ported for technical reasons, and also certain circumstances where the porting will be refused. Examples include :
a) you are porting the number to us but wish to retain the original line with the other provider – in this circumstance they may be unwilling to release the number as it is tied to the original line.
b) You existing line has a service attached e.g. broadband, freephone or premium number divert, and this has not been cancelled prior to trying to port the line.
c) You are in arrears on the original line.
d) You are attempting to port a domestic number – some companies do not allow this.
