Visitors to Ransom Wood and Forever Green often become lifelong friends because they enjoy our location. They have an affinity to our surrounding woodlands, the peace, the wildlife and the way in which we connect with nature.
Over the years many of these friends have sadly passed away and their families contact us not only to help with arranging a remembrance tea but to ask if there is somewhere their loved one can forever be a part of the place they loved themselves. In response to this, Charles Cannon one of our Directors has created a beautiful peaceful space in the form of a Memorial Orchard. For reasons very personal to Charles he has called it ‘Stuart’s Garden’.
We have now planted 35 fruit trees and these are available for friends and family to purchase as a dedication. The cost of £200 includes a mounted plaque with an engraving, a sturdy and secure protective guard and access to the tree whenever required. There is no way of knowing how much fruit will be produced but each year our head chef John Thornton will create a pudding from the first harvest and families will be invited in as part of a unique ‘Pudding Club’ to enjoy and to remember special people.
