Christmas Shoebox Appeal 2018

Ransomwood Estates will be working with our friends from Dalmatian Systems to support the Homeless Christmas Shoebox Appeal again this year.  You’ve all supported us with this in previous years so we are asking for your help again. We have 100 companies based here at Ransom Wood so if we could just get one box from each company we could give 100 people a gift at Christmas.

Your boxes can be for men, women or dogs.

If you don’t have time to prepare a box but would like to donate any items you can do this instead, just bring them to us and we will pass them on.

You can bring your shoebox gifts to us on Reception at Ransom Hall South.  Please make sure we have them by Tuesday 4th December and we will then take them to the appeal organiser.  The charity asks that when wrapping your boxes, lids must be wrapped separately so that they can add any extra donated items.  Also, please make sure to label the box as male/female/dog etc.

Suggestions for items to include are:-

  • Baby wipes
  • Deodorant or Soap
  • Toothbrush
  • Toothpaste
  • Chocolate /snacks (long sell by date)
  • Hand warmer
  • Sanitary Towels (if ladies)
  • Gloves
  • Hat
  • Rain Poncho
  • Torch
  • Seasonal Card note or even a short letter.
  • Dog treats
  • Lead
  • Bowl
  • Dog toys
  • Seasonal novelty
  • PLEASE: No alcohol-based products (mouthwash, hand sanitiser) or razors

Please give some thought to this really worthwhile cause. Any shoeboxes need to be brought to Reception at Ransom Hall by 4th December.

Thank You Everyone

Still love to walk around. I used to live in the big house at the top of the drive, it was Oak House then and I nursed at Ransom Hospital , Byron Ward which was on the left side of Ransom Hall car park. Oak House used to be Sisters accommodation. I think the main chef lived upstairs when I lived there and just me downstairs mostly. I loved it but had to keep my kitchen door closed because of the squirrels. Loved looking down the drive out of my bedroom and lounge windows, beautiful in Autumn and when it snowed, I worked at Ransom Hospital until it closed in 1987. Wonder why Oak House was later named Ash House? Lovely dining at Forever Green in the grounds whilst I reminisce.

Absolutely spot on as regards setting up a virtual office. Really friendly and helpful reception staff, with onsite meeting rooms available if needed. Very pleased.

Brilliant place, they have all sorts of businesses there. A cafe, hypnotherapy, hypnopuncture as well many others. Worth a drive up just to see what's there. Furthermore, it's in lovely surroundings.
