Earth Day 2015

On 22nd April 2015, Ransom Wood invites you to celebrate Earth Day.

Earth Day is an annual event, on which events are held worldwide to demonstrate support for environmental protection. It was first celebrated in 1970, and is now coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network, and celebrated in more than 192 countries each year.

The Earth Day Network is looking for “Acts of Green” from organisations big and small and with this in mind we are asking you to try to think green for the day.

The focus of our day will be to see how many people that work at Ransom Wood can leave their cars at home for the day and come in by a green form of transport. So this may be walking, running, cycling, roller blading, skate boarding or whatever other form of green transport you can think of. Whilst we are helping the environment it will also be a great way of doing a bit of exercise especially for those of us that live a bit further away.

If you are going to take part please let us know by emailing us  with the distance, what car you are leaving at home and how you are getting to Ransom Wood. We will then be able to add up all the carbon miles that have been saved to protect our environment.

For those that do join in on the day, there will be a complimentary coffee and a pastry awaiting you at Forever Green when you arrive. Again, please contact us before the day to let us know you are joining in, so we can send you a voucher in advance. If you want a shower when you arrive at Ransom Wood and aren’t based at Birch or Hawthorn then please let us know before the day and we can organise this for you. If you are coming by bike then there are bike racks at The Willows, Ransom Hall, Oak House, Birch and Hawthorn or feel free to just find a lamp post to lock your bike up against.

Good luck and we look forward to making Ransom Wood even greener on 22nd April 2015.

Ransom Wood is a an office park based in 70 acres of woodland, combining office space with a restaurant, woodland walks and pure inspiration. If you are interested in moving your business here, please contact us on 01623 675304, email us or click here for more info.

Still love to walk around. I used to live in the big house at the top of the drive, it was Oak House then and I nursed at Ransom Hospital , Byron Ward which was on the left side of Ransom Hall car park. Oak House used to be Sisters accommodation. I think the main chef lived upstairs when I lived there and just me downstairs mostly. I loved it but had to keep my kitchen door closed because of the squirrels. Loved looking down the drive out of my bedroom and lounge windows, beautiful in Autumn and when it snowed, I worked at Ransom Hospital until it closed in 1987. Wonder why Oak House was later named Ash House? Lovely dining at Forever Green in the grounds whilst I reminisce.

Absolutely spot on as regards setting up a virtual office. Really friendly and helpful reception staff, with onsite meeting rooms available if needed. Very pleased.

Brilliant place, they have all sorts of businesses there. A cafe, hypnotherapy, hypnopuncture as well many others. Worth a drive up just to see what's there. Furthermore, it's in lovely surroundings.
