The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills has launched a new start-up scheme to promote 30,000 new businesses with practical and financial support.
The Start-Up Loans programme is underway, with £82.5 million being distributed to entrepreneurs between the ages of 18 and 24 around the UK.
“With more young people than ever before looking to start their own business, Start-Up Loans will provide the support they need to help get their business ideas off the ground,” says Business Secretary, Vince Cable.
“The scheme is not just about money. They will also get access to professional mentors who will pass on their knowledge and expertise about running successful enterprises. Money is going out of the door now, so those who want to take advantage should apply today.”
1,200 applications are currently being processed for the loans, which are being distributed by the Start-Up Loans Company run by entrepreneur and ex-‘Dragon’s Den’ panellist James Caan.
“Start-Up Loans are exactly what young people need to get them on their way to launching their own businesses,” says James Caan.
“Through the Start-Up Loans Company, we are encouraging young people to be more entrepreneurial by taking their future into their own hands and creating their own opportunities.”
The Start-Up Loans Company will be partnered in this enterprise by The Prince’s Trust, Business Finance Solutions Manchester, the South West Investment Group, Young Britain, Let’s Do Business, North London Community Finance and PNE/Virgin
Ransom Wood is also keen to help these young entrepreneurs so has a range of office space available to suit small businesses. For more information on office space available see our website
