Understand The Science of Life at Ash House

Translated from Sanskrit “the science of life”, Ayurveda is a holistic healing science that originated in India over 5,000 years ago. Its principles and techniques help millions of people around the world enjoy a balanced and vital life in the 21st Century. The World Health Organisation (WHO) legitimised Ayurveda in 2014. They launched a new strategy to validate its effective practices internationally and encourage more countries to consider expanding it as a medical option.

Joanne Maddison is a fully qualified Ayurvedic diet and lifestyle and massage therapist with diplomas from the Ayurveda Institute UK, having trained under the supervision of Dr Deepika Rodrigo (BAMS) and Dr Wathsala Wijesinge (BANS, MSc, MD). She’s also a member of the Association of Ayurvedic Professionals UK (AAPUK) and the Complementary Medical Association (CMA).

Ayurveda naturally become a way of life for Jo after she experienced the benefits first-hand. Now she’s committed to focusing her energies on helping others achieve emotional and physical balance to bring peace, energy and clarity to their lives.

Joanne commented, “Ransom Wood is the perfect location for Ayurveda – surrounded by nature, full of peace and tranquillity. I’m thrilled to bits to be part of the community!”

Ayurveda is based on the principle of preventing long-term physical and emotional disorders rather than waiting for them to manifest and then just treating the symptoms. It focuses on diet, massage, detoxification, and herbal medicines to achieve mind-body balance, optimum health and general wellbeing.

Joanne is offering a £10 discount for any treatment to residents of Ransom Wood.

Visit her treatment room at No. 7 Ash House, Ransom Wood, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, NG21 0HJ. Call or email to make an appointment.

Still love to walk around. I used to live in the big house at the top of the drive, it was Oak House then and I nursed at Ransom Hospital , Byron Ward which was on the left side of Ransom Hall car park. Oak House used to be Sisters accommodation. I think the main chef lived upstairs when I lived there and just me downstairs mostly. I loved it but had to keep my kitchen door closed because of the squirrels. Loved looking down the drive out of my bedroom and lounge windows, beautiful in Autumn and when it snowed, I worked at Ransom Hospital until it closed in 1987. Wonder why Oak House was later named Ash House? Lovely dining at Forever Green in the grounds whilst I reminisce.

Brilliant place, they have all sorts of businesses there. A cafe, hypnotherapy, hypnopuncture as well many others. Worth a drive up just to see what's there. Furthermore, it's in lovely surroundings.
