This year our Christmas charity is Mansfield Wildlife Rescue. As a company who are “In Business With Nature” its really important to us to look after our woodland and the wildlife that live amongst us where we come to work and at home.
The team are always interested to get involved whether its saving a bat, protecting our fox population or releasing rescued birds into the woodland. So when our Estates Manager, Jane Bamford noticed an injured hedgehog at home she brought him right in to Mansfield Wildlife Rescue.
Jane has a family of hedgehogs living in her garden at home and she noticed that one of the youngster of the group was looking underweight and had something wrong with one of his legs. She brought Harry Hedgehog into work and we contacted Mansfield Wildlife Rescue who are a charity for sick animals based in Pleasley Vale, Mansfield. They agreed to take him in and he is now being cared for by their team until Spring when Jane will take him back home to his family. He is receiving treatment for his leg and will be given plenty of food to get him back to his correct weight. Jane has kindly donated the food for him and will be returning to the centre so we can keep an eye on Harry’s progress.
Mansfield Wildlife Rescue are a privately run rescue centre who are self funded. They rely totally on donations to cover vet bills, food and medication for all the animals they care for before releasing them back into their natural habitat. With this in mind we are launching our campaign of support for this local charity who really do need support to continue their great work. They have a wish list on their web site which can be found below but if you would like to donate any of the foods on the list you can drop them off in either Ransom Hall or Birch House receptions.
